This will be followed in March, April and May by a season of new ‘Urban Brit Fliks‘, urban films made by British filmmakers including new films: Hard Time Bus, The Naked Poet and a film we will solely be distributing using a new innovative untried distribution strategy (we will lead the way in providing new opportunities for the distribution of urban/black films) – So we are here now pleased to introduce you to: Lapse of Honour starring extra hot UK grime artiste Lady Leshurr. This is a powerful family drama about love, desolation, aspirations, family break-up and the danger of turning to crime as a source of survival.

Trainee’s Find A Production Company & Get Trained UP

Hiive

Are you interested in working behind the camera on high end TV dramas like Poldark and Peaky Blinders? Do you have less than two years’ experience?

We’ve got the opportunity you’ve been waiting for!

Creative Skillset run a fantastic programme called Trainee Finder where trainees are matched with productions to gain a series of PAID placements in high end TV over a two year period.

If you’d like to be part of this programme, here’s how you get involved.

We’ve held a series of open evenings across the UK to let more people know about this fantastic opportunity – now it’s time for the next stage.

We’re running FREE weekend Microshorts Workshops in Leeds, Manchester, London and Bristol over Spring 2016. We’re looking for 20 people to take part in each workshop, filming a tiny short film over a weekend with our team of experienced facilitators. Following the workshop, we’ll be selecting people to go through to Trainee Finder.

If you’re a budding camera operator, sound recordist, make up artist, production co-ordinator, or any other behind the camera role, apply for your closest workshop today via Hiive (Creative Skillset’s social network for creatives).

Go to: https://app.hiive.co.uk/competitions and scroll down to find the workshop closest to you.

The ONLY criteria is that you need to have less than two years’ experience in your chosen area, so if you’re just starting out, or are changing career paths, this is for you.

Manchester – 5th & 6th March 2016
Leeds – 9th & 10th April 2016
