Ryan Green – the UK’s freshest talent
Ryan_Green

Ryan Green bio: Ryan Green is a lavishly talented 19-year-old singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Essex, who first came to prominence on BBC1’s ‘The Voice UK’. First time round the judges didn’t turn for him, but immediately regretted their decision and in series 4 he grabbed his chance with several stunning performances and made it through to the knockout rounds with Team Rita Ora and Team will.i.am.

But ‘The Voice’ isn’t where it begins and ends for this soulful R&B balladeer. Ryan, described by many as the young Justin Timberlake, has been gigging live from a young age, performing a mix of original material and covers, and has performed to warm reviews at such iconic venues as London’s The Jazz Cafe, BBC Broadcasting House and the Cafe de Paris, as well Liverpool’s Cavern Club.

And to further underline his pedigree, like other fine musical artists — including Adele and Amy Winehouse — Ryan has completed 2 years at the prestigious Brit School, where he honed his song-writing and producing skills.

Do The Right Thing (15)
Spike Lee’s incendiary look at race relations in America, circa 1989, is so colourful and exuberant for its first three-quarters that you can almost forget the terrible confrontation that the movie inexorably builds toward. Do the Right Thing is a joyful, tumultuous masterpiece–maybe the best film ever made about race in America, revealing racial prejudices and stereotypes in all their guises and demonstrating how a deadly riot can erupt out of a series of small misunderstandings. Set on one block in Bedford-Stuyvesant on the hottest day of the summer, the movie shows the whole spectrum of life in this neighbourhood and then leaves it up to us to decide if, in the end, anybody actually does the “right thing.”

Starring: Danny Aiello, Ossie Davis, John Turturro, Spike Lee, Giancarlo Esposito, Richard Edson, Ruby Dee, Bill Nunn, Paul Benjamin, Rosie Perez, Robin Harris, Frankie Faison, Frank Vincent, Steve White, Leonard L. Thomas, Samuel L. Jackson, Joie Lee, John Savage, Miguel Sandoval, Rick Aiello, Roger Guenveur Smith & Martin Lawrence.
