Filmmaking Opportunities for 16 – 24 yr olds in the midlands -APPLY!

Then get reading and then appying – as they say time waits for no man (or woman)!

Rural Media is looking for young artists with creative ideas from all art forms; from dance to visual art, animation to poetry, music to drama, film to video art to create stunning new short films

Random Acts is a major 3-year Arts Council England/Channel 4 project that supports young artists between the ages of 16-24 with throughout England.

Kush is supporting Rural Media who runs the midlands hub of Random Acts and Kush Films gov’ner Marlon Palmer has agreed to give up his time to be a mentor to a selected successful applicant (there are other hubs covering all over England including London so go to the Random Acts website for news on a specific area that you live in).

For this particular project you need to be aged between 16-24 and live or attend College or University in the  Midlands.

You will need to have a clear focus of what it is you want to do; you may have a script, artwork, storyboard, choreography or piece of music that you want to use, or have developed concepts and ideas that you want to realise on screen. There will be time to cultivate your ideas with professional mentors, but we will be looking for applications that can demonstrate a clear vision

The production process will be demanding. You will be supported and guided throughout it all, but you need to be prepared to commit time and energy to producing your work. Once you are commissioned you will be placed onto a production schedule which means working to tight delivery deadlines.

The Rural Media Company is the Random Acts Network Centre for the Midlands in partnership with Maverick TV and a host of other arts organisations.

If you’re still not quite sure of what its all about then a good way to find out more will be at one of our Access Events. Our workshops for the Summer are now finished but we will be organising more in your area in the Autumn.

The workshops will give you all the information you need about Random Acts and how to to apply as well as providing valuable tips and inspiration from a wide range of artists and industry experts –  AND they are a lot of fun!
